Bow Ties & Beignets, 7 AM, Friday, November 2, 2018 at Island View Casino and Hotel Bow Ties and Beignets was born from a conversation with Chad Riemann and R.L. Flowers, Gulfport City Councilman. What started out as an informal breakfast idea where locals could come and learn how to tie a bow tie while making small donations to local charities, a committee of community leaders has positioned BT&B to be a significant financial influence on the lives of children that are cared for by the Harrison County Emergency Children's Shelter. In the last two years, the event has raised over $45,000 for the shelter. These funds allowed for the playground to be paved with rubberized sidewalks and replaced all of the beds and linens that were in need of replacement. The event draws more than 300 people annually, all who contribute to its financial success. The funds are raised by silent and live auctions in addition to various sponsorships. We are thankful to our community for the support that has been given to this event and pledge to continue working with community leaders to care for children in need
