WREATHS FOR BILOXI NATIONAL CEMETERY

Wreaths For Biloxi National Cemetery

In 2013, a small group joined together in an effort to cover each grave at the Biloxi National Cemetery with a Christmas Wreath. Riemann Family Funeral Homes, Julia Encalade (Harrison County Veterans Service Officer) and Kevin "Reb" Cuttill (Crusaders for Veterans) led the initial fundraising efforts and logistics to create the first annual ceremony and wreath placement. The first year our fundraising efforts led to 3,000 wreaths with bows being placed. At our 10th anniversary, the efforts have expanded and a committee of volunteers and donors will result in us being able to place close to 25,000 wreaths in 2023. Please join the 1000 + volunteers on the first Saturday in December as we place these wreaths over each grave. One Hundred volunteers are needed to help on the Thursday prior to the ceremony to unload the four 18 wheelers that contain the wreaths. Then, Friday prior to the ceremony, we gather on the grounds of the cemetery to beginning at 8:00am to replace worn out bows and prepare the wreaths for placement on Saturday. We host the Wreath Walk each May as our main fundraiser for the event. Please join us as we walk our boardwalk from Courthouse Road to the Armed Forces Retirement Home and back. Of course, donations are accepted year round and Wreaths for BNC is a registered 501c3 charity in Mississippi. Please call Chad Riemann at 228-539-9800 for donation information or go the Wreaths for Biloxi National Cemetery Facebook page.
