Obituary of Caem Lee Hillman
Caem Lee (Lewis) Hillman, age 73, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019. She was born in Lambert, Mississippi to Edward Lewis and Julia Schell Lewis, and had two brothers, Bo and Pat Lewis, and a sister, Joellen Beasley.
She attended high school in Tunica, MS, and received her undergraduate degree in Mathematics from Delta State University, where she was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. She earned Master of Library Science and PhD in Education degrees from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Caem married Richard Gorman and together they had four children, Juli, Kelli, Richard, and Christopher.
She worked as a teacher, librarian, and karate instructor, as well as working with children with special needs. Caem enjoyed art, playing the banjo, and achieved the Black Belt level in Karate. She loved horses and competed in barrel racing at the national level.
Later in life, she married Joseph Hillman and they were both active members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Caem is survived by her husband Joseph; her brother, Pat; her children, Juli Pucheu (Randy), Kelli Gorman, Richard Gorman, Jr. (Teresa), and Christopher Gorman(Lauren); her grandchildren, Ashleigh, Haleigh, Ava, Rylee; and her great grandchild, Mason.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Friday, May 17, 2019, at the Orange Grove Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 11148 Klein Road, Gulfport, MS 39503, with a visitation from 10:00 AM until the service. Burial will follow at Finley Cemetery.
