Obituary of Gregory Skuse

It is with great sadness that the family of Gregory John Skuse announces his passing on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at the age of 68 years.

Greg was a native of Salamanca, New York, and at the age of 16, received his pilot’s license before he received his driver’s license. After receiving his pilot’s license, he was a member of the Civil Air Patrol in New York, where he rescued the distressed. He attended Louisiana Tech College and worked at Olivetti Corporation in New Orleans, LA, where he was an electronic technician.

He enjoyed photography, drawing, traveling, hiking, repelling, camping, and just being outdoors. He also adored spending time with his grandchildren. Greg had a strong faith in God and really loved reading his Bible. He was a member of Resurrection Life Church in Picayune, MS.

Greg will be lovingly remembered by his wife and best friend of 32 years, Barbie Skuse; and his children, Robert (Brittany) Skuse, Timothy (Nacolle) Skuse, Allen (Crystal) Bourgeois Jr, and Aimee (Barret) Fortier. Greg will also be fondly remembered by his six grandchildren, Elijah and Abigail Skuse, Nola Skuse, Allie and Luke Fortier, and Allen Bourgeois (AJ) III; also by his sisters, Elizabeth (Richard) Weiss and Barbara (Dean) DeVito. Greg was preceded in death by his parents, Edgrina Gillis and Kenneth Burt Skuse;  and his brothers, William Skuse and Kenneth Skuse Jr.

A Funeral Service in memory of Greg will be held on Saturday, October 20th, with visitation from 10 am until 11am, and then a service to follow at Resurrection Life Church, 795 Memorial Boulevard, Picayune, MS.

A special thanks to the staff at Memorial Hospital in Gulfport, Notre Dame Hospice, and the compassionate staff members of Woodland Village Nursing Center.
