Zachary Kent Ladner

It is with deep sorrow that we mourn the passing of Zachary Kent Ladner. Following a four year battle with cancer, he passed away peacefully at his home on April 18, 2021 at the age of 58. Zachary was born December 18, 1962, in Gulfport, MS. He was the first of five children born to his parents Donald Wayne Ladner and Sandra Ladner.

Zachary will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Rendy Taylor (Lee), and Arin Angelo (Ryan); his grandchildren: Julia Taylor, Ava Taylor, and Maddox Taylor; Mother, Sandra Ladner, Sister, Roxann Ladner (Darren), Brothers, Lenny Ladner (Jolene), Aric Ladner, and Regan Ladner; as well as nieces, nephews, numerous relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Wayne Ladner, his paternal grandparents, Clifton Ladner and Mazie Ladner, his maternal grandparents Edison and Locadie Martin; His uncle and Godfather, Roger Dale Ladner.

Zachary was a graduate of Hancock North Central School. He loved Hawks basketball. He was a member of the 1979 varsity team that achieved runner up in the State Championship playoff game. He attended Pearl River Junior College where he received a degree in Electronics. This degree led to a successful 36 year career with Ingalls Shipbuilding.

One of Zachary's greatest joys in life was his love of music. It was a love he shared with his dad, his grandfather, his brother, Lenny, his two daughters, and both of his son-in-laws. His love of music began early in life, as a teenager he helped launch Fantasy Productions. "Wolfman" Zach, as he was known, was the heart of Fantasy, and his legacy lives on as his brother Lenny continues success with Fantasy today, 44 years later. Zach continued to consult on music and electronics with Fantasy Productions until his passing. He was a member of many music associations, and built a massive music library that he so cherished. His knowledge of music was endless. Zach was also a huge Ole Miss fan. You rarely caught him without his Ole Miss baseball cap. He was very proud to be a Rebel and supported them immensely.

Zachary's greatest love was his family. He loved his daughters, Rendy and Arin, more than anything in the world. He also adored his grandchildren very much. He was known as "Pops" and the man with the endless packs of gum. He was so very proud of them, and loved spending time with them every other week. He was also very proud to be from a large, loving family. Growing up, he always looked forward to big holiday gatherings. The past several years he spent every holiday with his daughters and grandchildren making sure to soak up every memory possible with them. He was very proud to be "Pops". He will be greatly missed by his girls and grandchildren.

Zachary was a quiet man, a deep thinker. He was highly intelligent, funny, strong and resilient. He fought a long courageous battle with cancer with such dignity and grace. Zachary was a class act, and he will forever be greatly missed. He believed in our Lord Jesus Christ, and the peace and beauty of his eternal home.
