Yvonne Mary Lizana Necaise, a beloved member of her community, passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on January 20, 1942, Yvonne lived a life filled with love, laughter, and a strong will that defined her character.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Florine and Eurite Lizana; husband, Clarence Necaise; children, Cynthia Cuevas and Janet Gayle Cuevas; and sisters, Patsy Cuevas (Nolan), Diana LaFontaine (Larry), and Wanda Guardia (Glen).
Yvonne is survived by her children, Cathy Ginocchio (David), Rocky Cuevas (Mary), Balinda Strief (Greg), and Roy L. Cuevas (Rosalind); grandchildren, Ryan Strief (Maegan), Jeremy Strief (Allison), Justin Strief (Stephan), Alexis Lawson (Trey), Vinnie Canoy, Jordan Langston, Saevin Song, and Sabrina Cuevas; great-grandchildren, Emma Atwell, Chandler Hensarling, Anna Strief, Allierae Ginocchio, Aubrey Strief, Kate Strief, Camille Strief, Carter Lawson, and Cole Strief; and sister, Sandra Ladner (Alex).
She worked as a seamstress at Movie Star in Poplarville, where her creativity and skill brought joy to many. For five years, she shared her culinary talents as a cook at Little Saints Academy, nurturing the children with her warm meals and endless care. As an active parishioner at Most Holy Trinity, she found a spiritual home that further enriched her life.
Yvonne was married to Clarence Necaise for 42 years before his passing in 2013. Their love story was one marked by devotion, affection, and deep companionship. To Yvonne, Clarence was the love of her life, and he fondly referred to her as his "honeybee."
Known for her vibrant personality, Yvonne had a remarkable ability to make those around her laugh. Her sense of humor was infectious, helping to brighten the days of family and friends alike. She spoke her mind directly, a reflection of her tough and strong-willed nature. Yvonne's unwavering resolve and distinct viewpoint made her a respected figure among those who knew her.
An enthusiast of life, Yvonne had a passion for shopping, casinos, and playing bunco. These hobbies brought her joy and provided opportunities for cherished memories with friends and family.
A visitation will be held at Riemann Family Funeral Home in Pass Christian on February 6, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and again at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church on February 7, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM and a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Standard Sand Hill Cemetery in Kiln, starting at 12:30 PM.
