Yvonne Depreo Ladner, age 93, of Long Beach, passed away on July 1, 2024, in Hurley.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Olease and Mabel Depreo; her 2 sisters, Merle Haas and Irma Ladner; a son, David Ladner, and a great-granddaughter, Anniston Louise McNair.
Mrs. Ladner is survived by her 3 children, Michael Stephen (Cheri) Ladner, Linda Ladner Lucas, and Melanie Ladner Smith; 9 grandchildren, Matthew (James) Ladner, P.J. Ladner, Melissa (Tony) Nelson, Laura Lucas Dailey, Monica (Chase) McNair, Warren Michael Lucas, Mitchell (Kaleigh) Lucas, Timothy (Jennifer) Smith, and Mary Elizabeth Smith; 13 great-grandchildren, Maxwell Stephen Ladner, Kaitlyn Elizabeth Nelson, Melody Anne Nelson, Adelyn Grace Nelson, Leilani Kai Dailey, Lillian Grace Dailey, Ava Lynn McNair, Amelia Leeann McNair, William Adler McNair, Anthony Everette Lucas, Parker Trace Smith, Colby David Smith, and Dawson Olease Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Mrs. Ladner was a native of Kiln, MS and was a longtime resident of Long Beach. She graduated from Annunciation High School where she was the class Valedictorian and she continued her education at Pearl River Junior College. She touched three generations in the years she worked in education. She served as a supervisor and teacher for the Head Start Program and she also worked for the Long Beach School District.
She enjoyed gardening and she loved sewing and quilting, creating cherished items and mementos for her family and friends.
The family would like to thank all of their caregivers and the staff at Vital Caring Hospice and the staff at Singing River Hospital in Pascagoula for the love and support they gave to Mrs. Yvonne.
A visitation will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024, from 9:30 am – 11 am at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 720 E Beach Blvd, Long Beach. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 am in the church. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
