Wilmuth C. """"Bill"""" Lucas, PhD, age 74, of Diamondhead, passed away Wednesday, April 23, 2008, in Bay St. Louis.
Mr. Lucas was a retired Commander for the United States Navy and served for over 20 years. He did his undergraduate studies at Hinds County Community College, and Mississippi State University, and received his PhD in Earth Science at University of Southern Mississippi. Mr. Lucas was a retired geologist for the Bureau of Land Management and for Lockheed Martin. He was a member of Bible Fellowship Church, Confederate Civil War Societies, """"Good Southern Gentleman"""", numerous professional societies, and several genealogical societies. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren.
Mr. Lucas was preceded in death by his first wife, Andree Amieux Lucas; his parents, Oscar M. Lucas and Pauline J. Boone; and his brother, Oscar M. Lucas, Jr.
Survivors include his wife Carla Ware Lucas, of Diamondhead; his children, Paul Madison Lucas, of Pueblo, CO; Kathy Lucas Largent and her husband, Dennis, of Ft. Campbell, KY; and Kristy Diane Craft and her husband, Kevin, of Clinton, MS; his sister, Evelyn Lucas Cutter, of Rolla, MO; and his grandchildren, Andree Largent, Nicholas Largent, Collen Craft, Lauren Craft, Emily Craft, Morgan Craft, Beth Craft, Matthew Craft.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2008, at 4:00 PM at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Rd., Gulfport. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Evergreen Gardens.
