Wilma "Ruth" Mixon

Wilma ""Ruth"" Mixon, age 66 and a resident of Gulfport, died on Friday, April 1, 2011, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Mixon was a longtime resident of Gulfport and was employed with the Oreck Plant in Long Beach for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter E. and Iva Jones Martindale; her son, Jimmy Breland; her brothers, Carl Jones and Bobby Martindale; her sisters, Linda Mae Powell, Jane Taverna, Alice Norris, and her sister-in-law, Jo Ann Martindale.
Mrs. Mixon is survived by her loving husband of 29 years, Jimmy H. Mixon, Sr. of Gulfport; her children, Alice (Jeff) Schonewitz and Elic Breland all of Saucier; her stepson, Jimmy H. Mixon, Jr. of New Orleans; her brother, Walter Martindale of Bay Cliff, TX; her sisters, Dorothy Cook and Shirley (Bill) Wilkes of Memphis, TN; her best friend, Charla Malicoat of Gulfport; numerous grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and other loving members and friends, and her canine companions, Angel and ChiChi.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2011, at 6:00pm at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where family and friends may visit two hours prior to the service.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 417 Security Square, Gulfport, MS 39507.
