Wilma Lewis Leggett, age 75, of Long Beach, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, September 11, 2020 in Gulfport.
Mrs. Leggett attended Gulfport High School, graduating in 1963. She worked at Triplett Day Drugs, and she and Danny established Leggett’s Tire & Auto Service, where she retired from. She was of the Baptist faith and she loved to go to the Smokey Mountains.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Claude and Euna Vea Lewis; her sisters, Rose Lewis, Elizabeth Kelly and Grace Chambers; and her brother, Ralph Raymond.
Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Danny Ray Leggett; her 2 children, Chris Leggett and Lisa Leggett-Peterson (Scott Peterson); grandchildren, Addison Rae Peterson and Colton Todd Leggett; her sister, Clara Hansen (Stanley Hansen); her nieces, Linda Page, Donna Estep and Wendy Dubuisson; her nephews, Denny Chambers and Marty Hansen; and her extended family and life-long friends, Leon “Pete” and Kathy Long & their children, David & Dina Long. We have had a lifetime of memories.
The family would like to extend their special thanks to Memorial Hospital of Gulfport and to St. Joseph Hospice of Gulfport for their care and compassion during this time.
The public is invited to attend a Graveside Service, which will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 18, 2020 at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens in Long Beach, officiated by Rev. Rod Dickson-Rishel. For those unable to attend, the service will be Live Streamed on her obituary page on the funeral home website.
