Wilma Williams Hughes died peacefully at United Hospital Center in Bridgeport, WV on Saturday, December 06, 2014 at the age of 94.
Wilma Hughes was born in Salem, WV, and moved to Biloxi in 1963 where she was the manager of Eagan's Music Store until it closed. She went to work at Howard Memorial Hospital/Biloxi Regional Medical Center in admissions and medical records until she retired.
Wilma Hughes is survived by her children: Harry H. Hughes (Ann) Weaverville, NC; David M. Hughes (Pat), Flowood, MS; and C. Annette Hughes of Clarksburg, WV; grandchildren: Lauren H. Towles (Dave) and Lindsey T. Homan (Chase); great-grandchildren: Olivia and Madison Towles; Connor Thomas and Taylor Homan; nephews: Harry Williams, Nelson Williams, and Noel Williams; very special friends who loved her like family: Deb Amos and Tom and Mikel Henry; and her beloved Boston Terrier: Barney.
Wilma was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nettie Williams and her brother Wilbur Williams.
Wilma was a loving person and a dedicated member of Beauvoir United Methodist Church where she served as a Shepherd and attended Bible Study and Sunday services on a regular basis.
Funeral services, officiated by Rev. Michelle Bailey, will be held at Beauvoir United Methodist Church in Biloxi, MS on Friday, December 12, 2014 at 1 PM. There will be a visitation on Friday, before services from 11 AM until time of service at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
