Willie Grace "Chris" Miller, age 71 of Gulfport, passed away on July 27, 2018.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Willie Clolinger; her sister, Jennie Santana; her brother, Lewis Clolinger; and daughters, Melissa Rivera and Tiza Rivera.
Chris is survived by her son, Juan Rivera (Jeanie); daughters, Juanita Smith (Rusty), and Krystal Walker (Donald); 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.
Sister Chris Miller's life was a testimony of itself. She needed no acclaim to the world, or anything pertaining to this world. Her love, devotion, and humble consideration of others is a crown jewel in her life. She spent each and every day for others. It mattered little what she wanted or desired because her church and her family was always first. She was a wonderful, faithful, and dedicated saint of God. She was a one of a kind to so many.
Her early life was spent doing hard labor, such as traveling around picking fruit as a very young lady. Sister Chris kept that same work ethic the rest of her life. She had a genuine prayer life, spending many hours and days at the church with Sister Lucy Gill making intercessional prayers. She was faithful over few things on earth, but she is ruler over much now. Thank God for the victory.
Sister Chris lived a very honorable life and died the same way. In the closing of her personal life, there was no back-up gear in her. If she believed she was right, you were wasting your time to try and convince her otherwise. She will be deeply and sincerely missed by all. Pastor Seymour, as her pastor for over 30 years, will miss her, her testimony, and jumping up first to praise her Lord and Savior, Jesus.
The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM, Monday, July 30, 2018, at First Pentecostal Church of Orange Grove, Gulfport, with a visitation for friends and family starting at 1:00 PM until the service. Burial will follow at Dobson Holliman Cemetery, Gulfport, MS.
