Willie Mccullough

Mr. Willie McCullough went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2009.
Mr. McCullough was born January 2, 1919 in Brookhaven, MS, where he resided until coming to the coast in 1942. He was a faithful member and deacon of Grace Memorial Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School many years. He loved the Lord and his wife, Flo, with whom he served the Lord.
Willie was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base and served overseas in WWII until 1946. He returned home to enter into the tire business, eventually opening Southern Tire Sales, where he remained for 30 years. He was a Shriner and a Mason. He loved fishing and spending time with friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Douglas McCullough; his parents, Will and Nan McCullough; four brothers, Byron, Morris, Lawrence, and Edward McCullough; and two sisters, Callie Adams and Mattie Smith.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Florence; his son and wife, Michael Sr. and Stephanie; his grandson, Michael Jr.; brother, D.R. aÌ‚â‚Å“Docâ₝ McCullough, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 14, 2009 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy 40 N., Gulfport. The funeral service will be held at 10:00a.m on Friday, May 15, 2009, in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
We, the family, wish to thank VA Home Health Care and the Hospice team that helped care for Willie, and our many prayer partners. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dodge Memorial Scholarship fund at Grace Memorial Baptist Church, 2300 23rd. Ave., Gulfport, MS 39501.
