Willie Bernard Jones, age 82, was born in Bay Springs, Mississippi, to Alexander Jones and Pearle Hilton Jones, and passed away on October 26, 2024.

He spent his formative years in Monroe, Louisiana, before dedicating himself to a distinguished military career. Willie honorably served in the United States Army for twenty years, retiring as a Sergeant First Class. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he held various infantry assignments throughout his service. In the latter part of his military career, he excelled as a Recruiting Officer, stationed in North Hollywood, California. After retiring from the Army, Willie transitioned into civilian life and became a successful Allstate Agent, operating his own agency in Hesperia, California, for twenty-two years.

In 2001, he relocated to Pass Christian, Mississippi. In 2003, he became an Independent Associate for Legal Shield, later co-founding Briret INC with his wife, Groverine. A devoted member of his faith community, Willie was active at St. Stephen's Church and later at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church, where he contributed to the Trinity Choir, the Men's Club, and the Knights of Columbus, attaining the rank of 4th Degree. His passion extended to the outdoors as a member of several RV clubs.

Willie was preceded in death by his parents, Alexander and Pearle Jones; his son, Brian Jones; and siblings Hardy Lee, SD, Doug Jones, Katie Moffet, Vergie Nobles, Betty Jones, and Alma Griffin.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Groverine Simmons Jones; his son, Edward Jones (Raynea); his daughter, Marriett Deal; and brothers Alex Jones and AJ Jones (Betty). He cherished his family, including devoted nephew Lee Jones, nieces Betty Sue Jones and Gwen Jones, grandchildren Paris Jones Malveaux (TJ), Justice, Mykel, Shemer, and Bryce Jones, great-grandchildren Carlon Butler, Maxwell, and Ezra Malveaux, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
