Willie Minor Carter, age 79, resident of Pass Christian, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, at home.
Mr. Carter was born in Portsmouth, OH to Willie Minor Carter, Sr. and Isabelle Smith Carter. Mr. Carter served in the Army Air Corps and the Navy. After military service, he worked for the Civil Service in numerous capacities including carpentry and painting. He was an avid gardener and woodworker and enjoyed bowling and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda L. Carter of Pass Christian; sons, William B. Carter of San Diego, CA, David J. Carter of Paxton, IL, and Mark A. Carter of Pass Christian; daughter, Bethany Carter of Villa Grove, IL; 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2010, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Road, where friends may visit from 4-6 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, October 1, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Burial with military honors will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
