William "Bill" Severs

William Dean “Bill” Severs, age 71, born in St. Louis Missouri and long-time resident of Ocean Springs, MS., passed away on October 24, 2021, in Gulfport, MS.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Guy and Velma Loman, his mother, Velma Lea Severs; brother Guy Eugene Severs; and his brother-in-law, James Deem, Jr.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of over 49 years, Karen Deem Severs; his children, Lara Severs Madec, and Christopher Severs and his wife Elizabeth; four grandchildren, Evan Madec, Caitlyn Madec, Caroline Severs and Stephanie Severs; brother-in-law, George Deem and his wife Wanda; sisters-in-law, Judy Deem, Debbie Swearingen and her husband Kirt; two cousins Dona Usrey and Karen Reeves; several nieces and nephews; and other relatives and dear friends.

Bill was a retired Naval Senior Chief Storekeeper and a Vietnam Veteran who was proud to serve his country.  He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Ocean Springs.

A memorial service will be held for Bill at Wesley United Methodist Church, 8900 Old Spanish Trail, Ocean Springs, on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. with a visitation for friends and family beginning at 11:30 a.m.  Interment in Biloxi National Cemetery will follow.
