William Austin “Bill” Clemons, age 74, of Helena, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at home on August 21, 2021.
He was preceded in death by his father, Johnny Austin Clemons, his mother, Mary Margaret "Margie" Clemons; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bennie and Alma Vice.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Ruth Evelyn Clemons; his daughter, Serre Leann (John, Jr.) Harris; a sister, Joyce Ann Clemons and Harold Randolph (Randy) Lennard, Jr; his grandchildren, Jordan Nicole Waters and Brannan Chase Waters and Lilian Megan Sturdivant; and many other loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends including Frankie Vice, a lifelong friend.
Bill was born in Cedertown, GA and moved to Irving, Texas at an early age. Bill was a graduate of Oak Cliff High School in Oak Cliff, TX and he served in the US Coast guard from 1965-1979. Bill worked at Mississippi Phosphate for over 27 years. Bill loved riding motorcycles and traveling with his wife, and playing dominoes and board games with family and friends.
The family is so grateful for the outpouring of love and support from the community, friends and relatives.
