William Arthur Swink, born in Oran, Missouri on April 22, 1925 to the late Lois Alene Wescoat and William Arthur Swink, died Tuesday, October 28, 2008 in Collins, MS.
Mr. Swink attended school in Farmington, Missouri and Cape Girardeau, Missouri where he graduated from Southeast Missouri State College with a B.S. degree in business. He served in WWII as a radioman and top turret gunner in Navy VPB-117 Bombing Squadron stationed in the Philippines.
Mr. Swink was a resident of Diamondhead, MS since 1987 where he enjoyed playing golf.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Emmy Lynn Tenkhoff Swink; daughter, Elizabeth Leigh Potts and husband Joe of Metairie, Louisiana; son, William Dewey Swink and wife Barbara of Loranger, Louisiana; three grandchildren, Brian Michael Brignac and Brandi Michelle Brignac of Metairie and Tosha Adele Swink of Hammond, Louisiana. He is also survived by a step great-granddaughter, Jordan Elizabeth Kauzlarich of Slidell, Louisiana; a great grandson, Briggs-Lucien William Fuselier of Metairie; a brother, Robert Edwin Swink and wife Candace of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and several cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, 2008 at THE RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Rd., Pass Christian, MS, where friends may visit from 12 Noon until 1:00 p.m. Burial will be private in Biloxi National Cemetery.
