William C. """"Bill"""" """"Bugs"""" Sample, Sr., age 68, of Gulfport, passed away Tuesday, May 6, 2008, in Gulfport.
Mr. Sample had been a resident of the Gulf Coast since the age of 13. He worked for Tidewater Marine for 38 years. He served in the Navy for 4 years. He was a man who lived life for his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
He was a very giving and caring man who loved to be surrounded by his family and friends. He will live in our hearts forever and we know now that God has chosen a very special person to be with him. He will now be free from pain and suffering and join his father, Escar Sample; his mother Lois Morgan; and his brothers, Edward Sample and Earl Samples in Heaven.
Those left behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 40 years, Joan Dickens Sample of Gulfport; his five children, Tammie McMillan and her husband Mitchie, of Vancleave; Bryan Sample, of Gulfport, William C. Sample, Jr., of CA; Donna Tanner and her husband Ed, of Gulfport, and Rhonda Herrmann and her husband Mike of Perkinston; three siblings, Doris Tolar of Anguilla, Marie Gonzales, of Houston, TX, and James Sample of Long Beach; nine grandchildren, Ethan and Makayla McMillan, Lisa and William Sample, III, Kyle Tanner, Amanda Moran and her husband J.E., Melissa Bryant and her husband Chad, Mike Herrmann, Jr. and his wife Christina, and Mark Herrmann and his wife Rachel; eight great-grandchildren, William C. Sample, IV, Kaylee and Brooke Bryant, Blaine Herrmann, Sydney Herrmann, Hannah Herrmann, John Michael, and Emily Moran.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 9, 2008, from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11213 Hwy 49N, Gulfport. The funeral services will be on Saturday, May 10, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Finley Cemetery in Gulfport.
