William Reed

William Ralph Reed, age 83 of Saucier, passed away on Wednesday, February 2, 2022.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Reed; his mother, Nettie Smith Reed; his siblings, Tarvon Reed, Jerry Reed, Ray Reed, Betty Johns, and June Hodge.

William is survived by his spouse, Dorothy Graves Reed; his children, Libby Reed LeMaster (Jan Michael), Dede Tolar (Mark), Sandra Reed Pierce, and Stephanie Stewart (Joe); his siblings, Buck Wyatt Reed (Dot); his grandchildren, Sarah Doller (Nate), Jessica Collins, Robbie Collins (Ashley), Brandy Kendrick, Amanda McClendon, Ashley Bennett, Erin Griffin (Michael), Samantha Walker (Tyler), Rebekah Cortez (Christopher), Joshua Marshall, Chasity Paris (Shawn), Joe Stewart, Jr., Christine Surber, and Sarah Davis; 25 great-grandchildren.

William was a native of Louisville, MS., where he graduated from Liberty University. He served in the US Air Force, then served in the Air Troopers, serving over 10 years as civil service. He also served as a police officer, an auxiliary officer, music minister, pastor, and volunteer hospital chaplain. William was a bible scholar, accomplishing the task of handwriting the bible twice, he was featured by news broadcast for this accomplishment.

William enjoyed studying the word of God and gardening. He loved raising farm animals.

He was a loving husband, daddy, and pawpaw to not just his family but to everyone he touched. Our daddy was the most loving, most kind, most gentle man you could know. He will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, 11:00 am- 12:00 pm at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport.  The funeral service will be at 12:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
