William Joe Pickett “Billy Joe”, age 86, of Biloxi, passed away on March 16, 2020, at his home.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Marilyn Blythe Pickett; his parents, Robert and Winnie Brown Pickett and his brothers, Robert and Gary Pickett.
He is survived by his daughters, Vicki Kemp (Randy) and Alisa Reeves; his sister, Kathleen Lee; his grandchildren, Joseph Miller, Blythe King (TJ) and Marguerite Kemp; his great-grandchildren, Tanner King, Barrett King and Skylon Miller and his dear friend, Pennie Fallo (Eddie).
Joe was originally from Meridian and relocated with his family to Biloxi in the 1960s. He served in the United States Army and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He retired from Rust Scaffold Rental and Erection in 1995 after two decades of service and was a proud member of the Carpenters Local Union #569. After retirement, Joe worked many years as security guard for Swetman Security Services, Inc. His most treasured assignment was working in the parking garage of Biloxi Regional Medical Center. There he made it his life’s mission to ensure that everyone made it to their vehicles safely and no one ever waited on the elevator, he always had it waiting.
Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Road, Biloxi on Thursday, March 19, 2020. A graveside service will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 1:30p.m.
