William Joseph """"Butch"""" O'Shields, 54, of Johnson Bayou, LA, died Sunday, September 13, 2009 in Beaumont, Texas.
Butch was a long-time resident of Pass Christian and was currently residing in Johnson Bayou. He attended Pass Christian schools. He worked for Northrop Grumman, he loved to fish, and he was of the Catholic faith.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jay O'Shields; brother, Richard J. O'Shields; step-daughter, Ginger Annette Trahan; and two great nieces, Trisha Lee Carpenter and Celeste Derouen.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Le Blanc O'Shields of Johnson Bayou, LA; mother, Margaret Earline Necaise O'Shields of Pass Christian; daughter, Leslie Earlene O'Shields of Pass Christian; step-children, April Trahan (Don) of Johnson Bayou, Theresa Hudgins (Brian) of Bridge City, TX, Erica Trahan of Gulfport, and Timothy Trahan (Lori) of Sulphur, LA; five siblings, Gayle Christensen (Kenneth) of Victoria, TX, Darlene Carpenter (Ernie) of Pass Christian, Tina Ahlgren (Bruce) of Mesa, AZ, Christine O'Shields of Pass Christian, and Christopher O'Shields (Priscilla) of San Diego, CA; and 12 grandchildren, Alexander Baccke and Mattison Baccke, both of Panama City, FL, Tristan Trahan, Garrett Trahan and Kortni Trahan, all of Johnson Bayou, Jaden Trahan, Kalie Fray and Shannon Fray, all of Gulfport, Peyton Hudgins, Brayden Hudgins and Brett Hudgins, all of Bridge City, and Landon Newsom of Sulphur.
He was greatly loved by all of his family and friends and will be missed.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m., Thursday, September 17, 2009 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, with Recitation of the Rosary at 7:00 p.m.
The Prayer Service will be at 10:00 a.m., Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery at Rotten Bayou.
