William R. """"Bill"""" Lukas, age 56 and a resident of Gulfport, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, in Gulfport.
Mr. Lukas was a native of Cleveland, OH and has been a resident of Gulfport for the past 42 years. He was a dedicated Social Worker for the past 25 years and was employed with the Department of Human Services. Mr. Lukas was currently employed with Driftwood Nursing Home in Gulfport as Director of Social Services. He was a dedicated, loving, and generous father and grandfather and was a faithful Disney fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents Elmer and Anna Lukas, Sr. and his brother, Elmer Lukas, Jr.
Survivors include his children, Christina Lukas, of Gulfport, Heather Lukas, of D'Iberville, Sasha Lukas, of Long Beach, and William Lukas, of Gulfport; his sisters, Clarissa Jordan and husband Robert, of Oxford, and Lisa Grant, and niece, Shannan Grant, both of Magnolia, TX and his grandchildren, Kaitlyn Tigner, and Lanie Howard, both of Gulfport.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2009, at 3:00 p.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service. For more information, please call (228)539-9800.
