Pass Christian

On August 5, 2024, William "David" Killgo joyfully reunited with his heavenly father after a courageous battle with cancer. David was 75 years old and lived a life full of love, laughter, and adventure.

David's journey began in Jackson, MS, where he attended public schools before graduating from Cincinnati High School in Ohio. He then pursued higher education at the University of Ohio. His sense of duty led him to serve in the U.S. Navy for four years and later in the Mississippi National Guard Aviation Unit 185 out of Jackson, MS. He proudly served as a medic during Operation Iraqi Freedom with the "Fighting Catfish" Task Force of the 185th Aviation Division. David's vibrant personality shone through his love for bowling, golfing, and spending quality time with his family and friends. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his beautiful singing voice, which he shared with various choirs, bringing joy and fellowship to many.

After a long and fulfilling career as a Records Clerk at the VA in Jackson, MS, David retired and moved to the Gulf Coast to be closer to his family. There, he enjoyed working in security with Harrah's and participating in Gulf Coast Legal Professional events with his sister, Billie. David had a passion for traveling, puzzles, catalog shopping, and took pride in maintaining his home and garden.

David will be forever cherished by his family, including his sister Billie Ruddick of Pass Christian, MS; brothers Robert D. Killgo of Pass Christian, MS, and Ronald W. Killgo and sister-in-law Sheila of Moss Point, MS; niece April E. Ruddick and nephew Cary Ruddick (Lisa) of Pass Christian, MS; Nephew Tom Ruddick Jr, (Leah) of Model, Co; as well as nieces: Tonya Killgo and Jacqueline Cooper of Saucier, MS; Toni Easterling (Michael) of Mobile, AL; Jennifer Killgo of Daphne, AL; and nephew Kevin Killgo of D'Iberville, MS. He is also survived by great niece: Tiffany McDowell (Luke) of Pass Christian, MS, and great nephews: Mark Gates (Shanna) of D'Iberville, MS, and Michael Ruddick of Gulfport, MS.

David was a dedicated and loyal friend, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was blessed with enduring friendships throughout his life, including those with Charles Mooney of Bay Springs, MS; Glenn Newell of Clinton, MS; and Cozy Willis of Jackson, MS. David leaves behind many wonderful family members and friends who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

A celebration of David's life and legacy will be held at a graveside service with honors at the Biloxi National Cemetery on Veterans Avenue, Biloxi, MS, on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. at the pavilion. Family and friends are invited to join in this joyful remembrance.
