William “Bill” Fredrick Kapp, 84 of Long Beach passed away on April 3, 2024 at Ocean Springs Medical Center. He was born on January 18, 1940 in Greeville, MS to the late John & Clara Kapp. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Miriam “Punkin” Kapp; brother, Howard (Sally) Kapp; and nephews, Glen Kapp, and Charles Kapp.
Bill loved animals and especially his two cats, “Boots” and “Booger”. He also enjoyed being in the outdoors and going fly fishing and camping. Bill had a love for photography, and was an avid gun collector. Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, and friend to so many and will be missed by all who knew him and loved him.
Bill grew up in Greenville, MS and graduated High School. He then attended Mississippi State University and graduated with an Engineering Degree. Upon Graduation he was drafted in the United States Army and proudly served from 1964 to 1966. After leaving the Army he settled on the Gulf Coast and started working for North American Aviation at the NASA Stennis test sight. He retired from US Navy Supships at Ingalls Shipbuilding, Pascagoula, MS., in 1995 and enjoyed his retirement. During his retirement he operated a booth at the Menage Ave Flea Market, and really enjoyed the thrill of finding a treasure.
Bill is survived by his loving step children, Derral McDonald, and Jan McDonald Tomlinson. Bill also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host, nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Graveside Services with Military Honors will be held on Monday, April 15, 2024 at 1:30 pm at the Biloxi National Cemetery (400 Veterans Blvd, Biloxi).
