William G. Hincks, Sr., age 74, passed away on June 24, 2018.
He was a native of Pass Christian and a longtime resident of Long Beach.
William was a graduate of St. Joseph School and then later of Pass Christian High School. He served in the Army National Guard for 6 years during the late 1960's.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Gautier Hincks and Geraldine E. Hincks; sisters, Odele Peranich and Diane Farragut; and nieces, Elizabeth Ponder and Elizabeth Farragut.
He is survived by his former wife of 16 years, Elizabethe Selle of Long Beach; his children, William G. Hincks, Jr., Geraldine "Dina" E. Woods (Kevin) and Joan Hincks Moran (Kevin) all of Long Beach; sister, Sylvia Hincks Spratley; brother, Robert Hincks; grandchildren, Olivia Brannon of Long Beach, Wyatt Allen of Saucier, Chase Allen of Long Beach, and Analeigh Moran of Long Beach; great grandchildren, Brantley Parks, and Charleigh Rose Taylor both of Long Beach; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In earlier years, he enjoyed fishing, softball, bingo, and was an avid golfer. Taking his grandchildren to Disneyworld gave him the most joy. He was fondly known to his friends and loved ones as ‘Grumpy' or ‘Gertrude'.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Long Beach Girls' Fast Pitch League , PO Box 1221 Long Beach, MS 39560.
The family asks that those attending the funeral please dress in business causal.
The visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The funeral ceremony will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at Live Oak Cemetery.
