William Hanson

William Claude Hanson, age 77, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 in Ocean Springs.

Mr. Hanson was a high school graduate and an honorably discharged soldier of the US Army after serving three years and being discharged due to injury. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Expert Rifle Medal.

He retired from Ryder Trucking Company and has been enjoying his retirement years playing golf, throwing darts and watching Saints and LSU football.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Calvin Hanson and Letha McMillian; and his brothers, Clyde Hanson, James Hanson and Gerald Hanson;

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Michelle Brand (Robert Gary), and William (Billy) Hanson, Jr.; siblings, Calvin Hanson, Jr. and Wilmer Hanson and his wife Helga; grandchildren, Keith Brand and Tracy Brand; and his one great grandchild, Jacob Brand.

Friends are invited to join the Hanson family for visitation and services on Thursday, February 17th at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd., in West Jackson County.   Visitation will be held from 12 Noon until 12:45 p.m.   The funeral service will begin at 12:45 p.m.  Internment with military honors will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
