William C. Frith

April 10, 1937 — February 19, 2009

William C. Frith, 71, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 19, 2009. He was born April 10, 1937 in Rocky Mount, VA and was the son the late Cecil and Catherine Coleman Frith of Rocky Mount, VA.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 1:00 pm at the Church of the Good Shepherd, 5169 Espy Ave, Pass Christian.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Penny Frith of Pass Christian. Three children: Uni (Peter) Joo of Boston, MA, Cecil Lee Frith of Columbus, OH and Susie (Darrel) Harvey of Houston, TX: Three grandchildren: Erin Frith of Columbus, OH and Jonathan and Daniel Joo of Boston, MA: A sister Judy (Johnny) Parcell: a nephew, Todd Parcell and nieces: Sara Weperrines and
Debra Little, all of Rocky Mount VA.
Bill served in the Navy for 4 years. Then worked for Philco Corporation in Korea. This position became a part of the Department of Defense, Navel Oceanographic Office where they moved to Japan, Silver Springs MD and Bay St. Louis,MS until he retired. He earned a degree Computer Science from the University of Southern Mississippi. Bill's life was that of ministry and service to the Lord. He helped found 2 churches, New Covenant Church (now called New Life) in Long Beach and Church of the Good Shepherd in Pass Christian. He was an elder in both churches. The latter, he helped with the new construction and completion of the church and served as Treasurer for many years, this was his home church since 1983. He helped found the Korean Baptist Church and the Korean Presbyterian Church, both in Biloxi, with wife Penny. He was co-chairman of the Greater Gulf Coast Holy Spirit Conferences in Biloxi for ten years. Helped coordinate and lead religious services at the South Mississippi Retardation Center in Long Beach every Sunday for 4 years.
He also organized Naval Oceanographic volunteers to assist with Special Olympics. Assisted and taught at New Life for girls (Teen Challenge) for 8 years. Bill had gone on 2 mission trips to Haiti and Korea. His ministry continued with home groups and fellowship groups in their home. He also assisted with transportation for people to come to church. His last ministry was that of Chaplain at the County Jail in Gulfport for the last 9 years.

Graveside services were February 22, 2009 in Rocky Mount, VA.
