William Lee "Bill" Fluty

William Lee "Bill" Fluty, COL, USAF, Ret., age 91, was born in Wetumka, Oklahoma, on June 30, 1931. Bill passed away on Tuesday, March 21, 2023.  After 33 years traveling the world with the US Air Force, he and his wife, Barbara, settled in Biloxi (1984) in a neighborhood where he could drive his golf cart to the golf course.   He followed his service to the country with eight years of service to Biloxi as a City Councilman.  In the last years of his life, he loved driving around Biloxi and Harrison County telling family members about all the projects he helped bring to fruition that helped improve life on the Gulf Coast. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Neva Fluty; his sisters, Kathleen Meisner and Mary Hanson; and his wife of 55 years, Barbara (2006).

A great believer in love, Bill married Teruko "Terri" Fluty in 2008.  He is also survived by his brother, Larry Fluty (Lynn) of Wilton, CA; and his children: Renee Fluty (Joe Turek) of Memphis, TN, Diane Lum (Damon) of Colorado Springs, CO, Gary Fluty (Mona) of Moore, OK, and Denny Dodge (Robert) of Atlanta, GA; his step-children Bill Kemmerer of Summerville, NJ and Paul Kemmerer of Cresco, PA; his grandchildren, Matt Lum (Amanda), Eric Lum, Carl Lum, Chase Fluty, Kelby Fluty (Sophia), Rebecca Turek, Shoshana Turek, Ellie Kemmerer, RJ Kemmerer, Paulie Kemmerer and Nicholas Kemmerer; and his five great-grandchildren, Perrin, River, Emilia, Arden and Hayes.

A Funeral Procession will leave at 10:30 a.m. from Riemann Family Funeral Home, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi, MS.   A brief Graveside Service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Friday, April 21, 2023, at 11:00 a.m.
