William H. Cox, Jr., age 81, resident of Pass Christian, passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2008, in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Cox was born in Biloxi and was a lifelong resident of Pass Christian. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church in the Pass, and retired after working as a merchant seaman, crew boat captain, and longshoreman. He will be remembered by his family and friends for his sense of humor and his stories of traveling the world.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys Cox; parents, William and Agnes Cox; brother, Ernest """"Dudge"""" Cox; and sister, Eunice Boudreaux.
He is survived by his children, Herman F. Cox of Gulfport and his wife, Jeanie; Richard """"Dudge"""" Cox of Petal and his wife, Debbie; Steve Cox of Pass Christian; Dawn Hefte of Covington, LA, and her husband, Eric; and Kimberly Losilla of Panama, Central America; sisters, Shannon Parker of Pass Christian and her husband, Jesse; Cecil Cox of Bay St. Louis; and 9 grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 9, 2008, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 19130 Commission Rd., Long Beach, where friends may call from 5:30-7:30 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Pass Christian, at 2 p.m., where friends may call an hour before services. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery.
