William Cowan

William Gary Cowan, 79, of Diamondhead, passed away on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. Mr. Cowan was born in Giddings, Texas and served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. He earned his Bachelor of Science in the College of Engineering at Mississippi State University. He retired from Boeing at Stennis Space Center as an Electrical Engineer. He was of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Cowan was preceded in death by his parents, William Posie Cowan and Minne Lee Teague Cowan, and an infant brother.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Ann Smith Cowan; his children, Michael Cowan (Leslie) of Kiln, MS and Christie Cowart (John) of Hattiesburg, MS; his grandchildren, Riley Cowart, Lexi Cowart, Finn Cowan, Nyle Cowan and Noah Cowan; his step-children, Linda Peranich (John) of Pass Christian, MS and Tolbert Rice (Angela) of Pass Christian; his step-grandchildren, Kaylee Rice, Cassie Rice, Ashton Rice and Aiden Rice, and Lacy Moran; and his step-great-granddaughter, Charlotte Alewin. He is also survived by his children's mother, Ann Atwood Cowan of Hattiesurg.
Mr. Cowan's wishes were to be cremated and his urn will be laid to rest at a later date at Biloxi National Cemetery.
