William ""Bill"" Francis Catranbone, age 86 and a resident of Gulfport, passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in Gulfport
Mr. Catranbone, a native of New York, began his military service with the U. S. Navy in 1946 and retired from the U. S. Air Force with the rank of Senior Master Sergeant. He graduated from USM Gulf Park with a Master's Degree, and then worked in Civil Service as a technical instructor with the Air Training Command Technical Training Center at Keesler Air Force Base.
He was loved and will be remembered by all.
Mr. Catranbone was preceded in death by his parents, Pete and Minnie Lembo; brother, Al Catranbone; and two sisters, Alice Patterson and Rose Wiltsie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Elizabeth ""Betty"" Catranbone, of Gulfport; five children: Patricia Pryde GalleÌ, Thomas Pryde (Karen), Kathleen Bennett, Francine Kirk (Roger), and William Catranbone Jr.; grandchildren, Melissa GalleÌ Polk (Steve), Thomas Pryde (Amber), Jennifer Pryde Swanzy (Jeremy), Lauren Bennett, Rachael Bennett, Jaeger Amzallag, Jared Amzallag, Dustin Kirk, Dillon Kirk, Austyn Manasco, Karli Swanzy, Haley Swanzy, Addison Swanzy, and Lyla Swanzy; his great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Polk; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at Biloxi National Cemetery, with military honors by the U. S. Air Force.
