William "Carloss" Carter

October 2, 1946 — December 15, 2011

After a very special day with his lifelong friend Bud, Carloss Carter, 65, of Long Beach peacefully and gracefully left his earthly home and entered into eternal life on December 15, 2011. Born in Hattiesburg, MS on October 2, 1946, Carloss and family moved to Gulfport in 1958. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School and he attended Pearl River Community College.
Carloss was greeted in heaven by his parents Gresham and Margaret Carter, his brother Charles and his son, Scott. He leaves behind to cherish the memories, laughter and words of wisdom his wife of 41 wonderful years, Lou, his children, Dee Dee Carter (Terri), Billy Carter (Denise), Stacey Mullins (Brian), Jamie Carter (Desma) and Marci Wilson; his ""step boy"" Jimmy Comeau, 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
After 30 years of providing for his family, working as a first class auto mechanic and service manager at Charlie Henderson Ford and Dauro's Auto Service. Carloss retired and had the privilege of relocating to Santa Rosa Beach, Florida to work with his two sons in the construction business. Carloss started playing golf in Florida and golf became one of his biggest passions. He had great pleasure playing and watching his teenage grandson Garrett develop a passion for the game as well. Carloss came back home to Long Beach at the end of 2010 and spent his final year spending time with his family and volunteering as a marshal at The Oaks Golf Course in Pass Christian.
The Gulf Coast is definitely a better place because of the legacy Carloss leaves behind through his family and friends. Psalms 23
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2011, at 3:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Long Beach, where friends may visit one hour prior to the service.
