William Thomas Carpenter, Jr., age 32, of Long Beach, passed away on December 7, 2020, in New Orleans.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandma, Shannon Illich; his paternal grandma, Betty Carpenter; and his paternal grandpa, Glen Carpenter.
He is survived by his father, William “Bill” Thomas Carpenter, Sr.; his mother, Lori Anne Carpenter; his sister, Elizabeth Smith; his brother-in-law, Cameron Smith; his nephew, Jax James Smith; his many cousins, uncles, and aunts; and his maternal grandfather, Rene James Illich.
William was a native of Gulfport and graduated from Gulfport High School in 2006. He was the proud owner of The Long Beach Comic Shop (est. 2016) on Jeff Davis Avenue. He loved his shop so much and especially seeing his customers. He was a devoted collector of comics and video games. William loved spending time with his nephew, Jax; his family; and his best friend, Preston.
William was a man of God with strong faith. He was an incredible man with so many that loved him. He was the strongest fighter until the very end and endured more than the average person. He never once complained and there is so much to learn from him. He will be dearly missed by everyone.
