William E. """"Buck"""" Burkhart, 79, of the Kiln, died Friday, August 1, 2008 in Diamondhead.
Buck was a long-time welder and burner at Ingalls and Dupont. He was a long-time musician. His band was Buck Burkhart and the Country Boys. He was a member of the Bay St. Louis Masonic Lodge #429 F.&A.M, the Grand York Rite Bodies of MS, Chapter 121, the Scottish Rites and the Order of the Eastern Star.
He was preceded in death by his long-time companion, Ila Davis; and his step-son, Mark Davis.
Survivors include his five children, Kathy Fort, Danny Burkhart, Amy Rasmussen, Becky Sloane and George Sloane, Sr.; ten grandchildren, Christopher, Amanda, Amber, Crystal, Elizabeth, Nathan, Crystal (Danny Cooley), Ila, Mark and Mindy; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln DeLisle Road, with the service at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel. Entombment will follow at Gulf Coast Mausoleum in Bay St. Louis.
