Reverend William Breland, 87 years old of Gulfport, MS, died Saturday, September 1, 2007 in Stone County.
He was born, November 24, 1919 in Pearl River County, MS, son of the late Thomas E. Breland and the late Mae Ladnier Breland.
Rev. Breland began his work for the Lord in 1950. Some of his many charges included Windborn Chapel in Leakesville, Orange Grove and Pecan U.M. Churches in Moss Point, Wilson Springs U.M.C. in Escatawpa, Lake Association U.M. Churches in the Jackson Area, and was currently serving as Pastor Emeritus at Gateway U.M.C. in Gulfport.
Surviving are son, Sidney Breland of Bohannon, VA, daughter, Kay Leighton of Hernando, MS, son, Terry Breland of Gulfport, MS; brother, Carl Breland of Wiggins, MS, brother, Maurice Breland of McHenry, MS; sister, Virgie Renot Parker of McHenry, MS; 9 Grandchildren, 6 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife of 64 years, Ila Mae Donna Breland and parents, Thomas Elijah Breland and Mae Ladnier Breland; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Services will be held at Graveside, Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. in the Beulah Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Beulah United Methodist Church Cemetery or Gateway United Methodist Church at 16020 South Swan Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.
