William “Bill” Cameron Bissett, an aerospace engineer and U.S. army veteran, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 18th, 2020 at the age of 86 at the VA Hospital in Biloxi, Mississippi.
Bill was a native of Wyandotte, Michigan and had fond memories of his time there and as a child in Nova Scotia, Canada. William and Donna Bissett were married for 55 years, until Donna’s passing. Bill and his family began their life together in Michigan on an apple orchard. In 1978 Bill and his family relocated to the Mississippi Gulf Coast and have lived there since. Bill received a bachelor’s degree in engineering. He served as a service officer for the VFW. Bill was an especially witty, humorous individual. He enjoyed coffee above most other earthly things and McDonald’s cheeseburgers. He loved American history, technology, the BBC radio station, his corn cobb pipe, home-baked cookies, and had a fond love of animals and family. Bill was of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by his three children, a son- in-law, his seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Bill Bissett is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, his wife Donna Marie Bissett, and his two sons William Edwin Bissett and Stephen Rob Bissett.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South Mississippi (www.hmsm.org).
