William “Bill” R. Bensch, 86 of Diamondhead, MS passed away on July 28, 2023 at his home surround by his loving family. He was born on September 8, 1936 in Miami, Florida to Harold & Elizabeth Bensch.
William was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Caryl Bensch; and daughter, Michelle Bensch.
William is survived by his children by his deceased wife, David (Colleen) Bensch, William D. (Therese) Bensch, Kathryn (Timothy) McNeil, with that marriage came 13 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
After High School, William joined the United States Army. He was a foreman and his trade was sheet metal where he worked for the International Sheet Metal Workers Association Local Union #32. William enjoyed spending time with family. He played Santa Claus for over 20 years and loved being around the children during the holidays. William had many hobbies which included being in the Academy of Model Aeronautics where he built and flew model planes. He loved being in the outdoors in his garden and bird watching. William was a carpenter and could build and make just about anything with wood. He also loved being in the kitchen baking and loved his “Sweets”. William had so many talents that are passed on and will be missed.
William is survived by his current wife, Amelia Rosich Bensch, of 19 years; his extended family, Lorry (Marvin) Gore, Rodney (Wendy) Kaupp, and Vicky Miller, with that marriage came 6 grandchildren and a great grandchild; sister, Deloris Kenniston; brother, Fred (Bonnie) Bensch, along with 3 nephews, and a niece.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 11:00 am until 2:00 pm at the Diamondhead Community Center (7610 Country Club Circle, Diamondhead, MS). Please RSVP Vicky Miller at 985-290-1644.
