Willene Coats Wallace, age 91 and a resident of Gulfport, passed from this life and into the arms of her Lord and Savior, on Sunday, June 13, 2010, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Wallace had been a resident of Gulfport for the past 45 years, and was a member of Bel-Aire Baptist Church. She was owner/operator of Willene Wallace's Kindergarten in Gulfport for many years, and she was a member of the Friends of the Library in Gulfport. She was an avid artist, loved sewing, and being with her friends at the Lyman Senior Citizen's Center and Lakeview Nursing Center.
Mrs. Wallace is preceded in death by her parents, James William & Sarah Kennamer Coats; her husband, Charlie B. Wallace; her daughter, Susan Wallace Beard and her great-granddaughter, Melanie Nix.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda (Mike) Remillard of Lizana and Elaine (Stan) Lindsay of Gulfport; her six grandchildren, Wendy (Mike) Settle, Tracy (Aaron) Plaisance, Carrie (Byron) Horst, Jeremy (Aimee) Remillard, Christopher Remillard, and Crystal (Moises) Herrera; her ten great-grandchildren, and her one great-great grandson. Also left to cherish her memory are her numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the entire staff at Lakeview Nursing Center in Gulfport for all their care and compassion shown to Mrs. Wallace during her time with them.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bel-Aire Baptist Church, Youth Fund, 15080 Dedeaux Road, Gulfport, MS 39503.
