Willard "Will" Sokol

Willard Sokol, Jr. KILN- Will (Willard) Sokol, 69, passed away peacefully in his home after a short battle with liver cancer, on December 27, 2011. Will was born in Pottstown, PA to Willard Sokol Sr. and Helen Miriam Beam on December 15, 1942.
Will lived a full and blessed life. Within days of his passing he stated, "" I have no regrets. I have had a great life, full of adventures, family and friends.""
Early in life he decided academics was not for him and he went into the field of aviation. He became a certified mechanic and later a commercial pilot. After years of flying, he entered the commercial fishing business. Later he blended the two fields and became a fish spotter; working for several fisheries on the east and gulf coasts for 30 years.
For Will his family and friends always came first. He treated all people with fairness and kindness; an example to all who knew him. His word was his bond.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mary L. Schlesman Sokol; sons Willy (Chrissy) and Kenny (Julie); daughter, Tina (Nick); mother, Helen; brothers, John (Linda), Tim (Esther) and Eric (Cheryl); sister Melodye (Steven); grandsons, Drew, Justin, Josiah, Ryan, Luke, Gabriel and Benjamin; Granddaughters Emily and Madelyn.
A visitation will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 9113 Kiln Delisle Rd. 2-4pm and a memorial service will be held at 4pm.
