Mr. Webster Lee Armstrong, Jr., 85, of Biloxi passed away Sunday, May 15, 2011.
Mr. Armstrong was born in Hopkinsville, Kentucky on July 25, 1925. He was the son of Webster Lee Armstrong, Sr. and Eulah May Cannon Armstrong.
He retired from the US Navy having joined when he was 17 years old. He was awarded the Asiatic-Pacific Medal, American Theatre Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal, China Service Medal, Japan Occupation Medal, Good Conduct Medal & Clasp, World War II Victory Medal, and the Naval Occupational Medal. After retiring from the Navy, he lived in Biloxi, MS where he worked in off-shore oil drilling.
He was a member of Beauvoir United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Elks Lodge, the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Armstrong.
Survivors include his 2 step-daughters, Dorothy Norman of Biloxi and Janet Plank of Macon, GA; and 2 sisters, Charlotte Sivells and Sue Jones both of Hopkinsville, KY.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at 11:00 am, with visitation from 9:00 until service time, at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 274 Beauvoir Rd., Biloxi.
Burial will follow at Southern Memorial Park, Biloxi.
