Alfred “Wayne” McBride, 76 of Vancleave passed away on December 12, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 3, 1948 in Hattiesburg to the late Alfred & Daisy McBride. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Fredrick “Freddy” McBride.
Wayne graduated from Moss Point High School. After graduation he started working in the shipyard. Wayne was a hard working and devoted person, who won many achievements throughout his career. The shipyard meant everything to Wayne, and this is where he met many of his friends and his loving wife. After 45 years of working in the shipyard business, Wayne finally retired from Trinity Yachts. While working in the shipyard this is where he met Sofia, and they were married on January 11, 2013.
Besides working, Wayne enjoyed being in the outdoors going hunting. He was also an avid billiards player. One of things that Wayne and Sofia enjoyed doing was traveling to the Philippines together to visit family. Wayne was a hard working individual who loved working in the yard, and having a cold beer. He had a quick whit and loving heart. Wayne was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and friend to so many. His legacy lives on in all of us.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 11 years, Sofia McBride; children, Quenton (Kerri) McBride, Deanna M. McBride Howard, Ashley McBride (Cong Le), and Lacey McBride; sister, Elaine (Arnold) McBride Parker; grandchildren, Jessica, Jamey, Zack, Raegan, Destiny, Taylor, Tate, and Tyler; great grandchildren, Ayden, Mirayah, Hudson, Lainee, Sam, and soon to be Baby Wade. Wayne also leaves behind to cherish his memory a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and extended family.
Visitation and gathering will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, West Jackson County.
In lieu of flowers, donation’s in Wayne’s memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors & Veterans, St Jude’s Hospital, and the Saint Joseph’s Indian School.
