Wayne Jones

Robert “Wayne” Jones, age 69 of Gulfport, passed away on Tuesday, August 24, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Joseph “Bob” Jones; and his mother, Betty Lane Cox “Lady” Jones.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Roberta “Bobbi” Jones; his children, Robert Joseph “Butch” Jones II (Elizabeth), David Wayne Jones (Angie), John “Sam” Jones, James “Luke” Jones (Gabby); his stepchildren, Angela Benigno Hardison (Keith), Stephenie Benigno Bley, and Stephen Donald Benigno (Angie); his sister, DeeAnn Stafford (Don); his sister-in-law, Billea Phillips; and his grandchildren, Brewer, William, Liza Lane, Colton, Parker McKenzie, and Stephen James “SJ”.

He enjoyed sports, especially University of Texas, traveling, his dogs, and his job at UT.

The family would love to thank his caregivers, Tiffany Pace and Michelle Williams for their wonderful care and devotion, as well as Kare N Home Hospice for their wonderful nursing care.

A private memorial service celebrating Wayne’s life will be held at a later time.
