Wayne Gordon

d. April 20, 2022

Long Beach

Wayne Gordon, 65, of Long Beach, Mississippi, died Wednesday, April 20, 2022, in Port Eads, Louisiana.

He was at his fish camp, “Happy Endings,” doing what he loved – fishing.

He was born Oct. 10, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and came to the Gulf Coast with the U.S. Navy Seabees, and was a UT, learning the plumbing trade.

He earned his high school diploma and completed two years of college in business management while in the Navy.

After his military service, he worked as a plumber, opening his own business, Gordon Plumbing, where he worked for more than 40 years.

In addition to teaching him the plumbing trade and helping him with his education, the Navy also helped introduce him to his wife of 43 years, Pam Magandy Gordon.

His love of fishing took him to Mexico, Florida and Louisiana as well as his home waters of Mississippi to wet a line. And he was almost always seen in a Guy Harvey T-shirt.

Known to his friends and family as “Big Wayne,” his personality matched his nickname. He would give the shirt off his back, but never asked for anything for himself.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Gordon and Anna Gordon; his father and mother-in-law, John W. Magandy and Janet Magandy; and a brother-in-law, Michael W. Morgan.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Pam Gordon; his son, Bryan Gordon; his daughter, Erin Gordon;  his grandchildren, Jaxson, 13, and Addyson, 10; his second mother, Delores Reynolds; his siblings, Tina (Johnny Mac) Gordon, Gene (Mae) Gordon, Wesley “Odie” Gordon and Larry (Pam) Lyons; his in-laws Randy and Maureen Sheets, Lee and Debbie Loomis, Michael and Cheryl Magandy, Peggy Morgan, Tom and Kate Holzhauser, Stan and Laura Hart and Tim and Becky Magandy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be on Monday, April 25, 2022, from 4 - 6 pm at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 19130 Commission Road, Long Beach.  The funeral service will be at 6 pm in the funeral home chapel.  Interment will be later in the Biloxi National Cemetery.
