Wayne Arnold Blackwell, age 71, born in Woolmarket and lifetime resident of Handsboro and Gulfport passed away July 18, 2012 in Gulfport. Mr. Blackwell was a 1958 graduate of Gulfport High School. He served his country in the First Cavalry of United States Army and was a proud Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of Sons of the Confederacy. Also, he was a member of Michael Memorial Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Margie Lott and Oscar Blackwell; and brothers, Penton, Kenneth, and Norris Blackwell.
Survivors include his sister, Berlyne Blackwell Stewart; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 9:30 am at Evergreen Gardens Cemetery in Gulfport.
