Warren Edwin John Forrest, 85, of New Orleans, LA died peacefully at the VA Medical Center in Biloxi on Thursday July 31, 2008. He was born to Edwin & Amy Forrest on July 13, 1923 in New Orleans.
Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Kathleen Forrest; five sons and daughters, Kurt Forrest, Marc Forrest, Karen Forrest Lutz, Neil Forrest and Jan Forrest Brady; six grandchildren, Sarah and Heath Sewell, Ben, Sam and Sean Forrest and Harry Brady; and great-grandson, Devin Sewell.
A Kings Point Academy graduate, Warren served with distinction in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He continued his career and love for the Sea over 31 years as a Merchant Marine and worked with the Army Corp of Engineers, eight of those in Vietnam. A Captain on ships and in life, he always maintained a steady hand on the tiller. Special thanks to the staff at the VA Medical Center for their care and support.
The Graveside Service will be held at the Biloxi National Cemetery Tuesday, August 5th at 10am., officiated by the Reverend Dr. Wayne Ray of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. Arrangements by RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, Beauvoir Road, Biloxi.
