Ward Calhoun Buel, age 86 a native of Mississippi, and a resident of Diamondhead, MS., died in Diamondhead, on May 24, 2008.
îHe was preceded in death by the love of his life, wife of over 61 years, Dovie Hardy Buel; and his son, Charles Bennett Buel.
He is survived by his children, Ward Clinton Buel (Audrey), George Theodore Buel, David Lee Buel (Ginger), Timothy Lee Buel (Anita), Debbi Buel, Rebecca Elizabeth Buel (David Munns); fourteen grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren; his dear friends, Michael and Lezlie Costelli as well as numerous relatives and friends.
Ward proudly served his country in the Army Air Corp as a pilot during WWII. He received the “Distinguished Flying Cross”Medal.
After the war, he started his own lumber and millwork shop business in Memphis, TN. and later retired from the construction industry in MS.
He enjoyed traveling, playing tennis, teaching his children and grandchildren to drive. Ward devoted a lifetime of love to his beautiful wife, Dovie.
Ward was a devout member of the “Associated Bible Students.”
He dedicated his life to his loving wife, his beautiful family of six children, fourteen grandchildren and numerous community members.
Due to the current pandemic, the family will have a private burial at a later date.
