Wanda Lee Day Newman, age 83, passed away on Saturday, March 5, 2011, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Newman was born in Bond, MS and had been a longtime resident of the Coast. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and loyal friend to all who knew her.
Mrs. Newman is preceded in death by her husband, James D. Newman; her parents, Gordon W. & Ruth Day; her brother, Tom Day and his wife Mildred and her niece, Carol Fortenberry.
She is survived by her children, Joseph (Cynthia) Newman, Susan E. Rouse and Gerald Harris; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, March 10, 2011, at 1:30pm at the Biloxi National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
The Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road in Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.
