Walter John Zilke, Jr.

Walter John Zilke, Jr., age 69, passed away on December 9, 2024. Born on April 4, 1955, in Boston, MA, to Walter John Zilke, Sr. and Margaret Christine Noble Zilke, Walter spent the last 60 years as a cherished resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.

Walter dedicated 36 years of his career to Gulf Coast Prestress, in Pass Christian, retiring in 2021. He was known for his hard work, dependability, and kind heart. Walter lived life to the fullest, embracing every moment with no regrets.

A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend, Walter was loving and attentive. He was always active and enjoying nature. His commitment to his family and friends was unwavering, and he was a passionate Alabama Football fan—Roll Tide Roll!

Walter will be deeply missed by his many family members and friends, as well as his beloved dog, Daisy May.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter John Zilke, Sr. and Margaret Christine Noble Zilke; and sister, Christine Antoinette Zilke Moorehead.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Lyn Zilke of St. Martin; two children, Kince Saucier, Jr. of St. Martin, Scott Jarrod Zilke of St. Martin; siblings, Donna Marie Jannison (T.J.) of Gulfport; Warren Zilke of Gulfport, Carol Ann Ruckman (Rocky) of Gulfport; bother in-law and best friend, Todd Dye (Debbie) of Joshua, TX; brother in-laws, Bill Dye (Amelia), Steve Dye (Tiffany), both of Ocean Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with visitation starting at 10:00 AM at Riemann Family Funeral Home, 13872 Lemoyne Blvd. West Jackson County. Burial will follow at Dye Cemetery in Saucier.
