Walter L. """"Lonnie"""" Burrus, 73, of Long Beach, died Friday, February 6, 2009 in Gulfport.
Mr. Burrus was a life-long resident of the MS Gulf Coast and was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Aledia Burrus; brothers, James, Eugene, Gary, Eddie and Freddie Burrus; and sisters, Peggy Callahan, Jeanette Havard and Mary Rose.
Survivors include his wife, Mary A. Burrus of Long Beach; children, Wesley """"Lonnie"""" (Tammy) Burrus of Fredericksburg, VA, LeeAnn Burrus of Ocala, FL, Lisa (Charles) Connell of Long Beach, Kevin (Susan) Burrus of King George, VA, Philip Burrus of Ocala, Lynne Stone of Sidney, NE, Tommy Burrus of Long Beach and Timmy Burrus of Long Beach; sister, Elizabeth (J.C.) Holliman of Long Beach; Sister-In-Laws, Doris Burrus and Mildred Burrus; 17 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family.
The Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 9, 2009 at the RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME in Long Beach where friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Gulf Pines Memorial Gardens.
